on the exhibit "Double Helix"While the rotation of the double spiral takes place in a constant plane, i.e. each point maintains the same height, the eye perceives the rotation of one spiral as ascending and that of the other as descending and vice versa. At the ends, where each of the spirals has to overcome a zero point, it becomes particularly clear: from the ascent a descending spiral emerges, from this an ascending spiral emerges. Both opposing movements are one and the same at the same time, just as the double spiral is a single structure running back into itself.
