Further informationson the exhibit "Fire tornado"
The air flow is generated by the rotating movement of the wire basket, whose speed of rotation increases significantly towards the center of rotation.
This increases the oxygen supply and accelerates the combustion process. The air heats up (warm air rises to the top) and pulls the flame upwards as it climbs up.
When winds build up into a whirlwind and it meets an open fire, the effect also occurs in nature.
